Silverfish

What Do Silverfish Look Like

Silverfish are not often come across by homeowners since they are nocturnal and can run really swiftly. Silverfish are 1/2" to 1" in length, they do not have any wings, they're typically light grey to tan in coloration. The torsos of silverfish are covered with silverish scales, are tapered, and terminate in three long, jointed bristles.

Silverfish can oftentimes be discovered in dark damp areas such as basements, laundry rooms or even tub or water drains. Silverfish normally appear only at nighttime, so if you suspect you've got a silverfish problem, take time during the daytime to cleanse the ‘suspected areas’ thoroughly and if conceivable air out the areas with a fan, or bring down the humidness in the room with a dehumidifier.
